July 12, Breakfast meeting

July 17, 2022

What a great start to our new Fiscal Year 2022-23 Tuesday July 12 at our July Monthly Breakfast Meeting with a “packed house” of 73 folks in attendance.

We know of several folks normally attending who were away on summer vacation time and if you were not able to attend you missed a wonderful opportunity to network and connect with your community.

In addition to the normal Community Partner Reports, the July Breakfast meeting featured:

  1. Introduction of your newly elected Board Members.
  2. Inspirational presentation by Tina Harte of NASA Langley and the NASA Globe Discoveries program piloted through our very own Camp Discovery.
  3. Recognition of 12 newly joined members.

(5 additional folks have already announced plans to join either during this meeting or since)

  1. $100.00 in Happy Dollars donations earmarked for our Annual Scholarship Fund.

(Your Chamber matches these donations from our general fund to the Scholarship Fund)

  1. Promotional information on featured entertainment and new exciting contests for our upcoming 4th annual Blythewood Oktoberfest to be held at Doko Meadows Park on September 30 and October 1, 2022.

Your Chamber is growing significantly, and we are excited about this coming year.

Join with us now to become a part of the programs and exciting events throughout this year and into the future.

In addition to regularly scheduled 2nd Tuesday of each month (except February) Monthly Breakfasts, ongoing programs include:

  1. Usage of your Chamber office for group meetings or interviews.
  2. Usage of your Chamber social media platforms for special events or hiring announcements.
  3. Weekly SHOP LOCAL features through local newsprint and our social media.
  4. Quarterly meetings of Downtown Merchants and Industry Partners groups.
  5. Blythewood After Five and Grand Opening/Ribbon Cutting networking opportunities.

Beyond the 4th annual Blythewood Oktoberfest, other special events for FY 2022-23 are:

  1. Our inaugural Blythewood Doko ChristkindlMarkt (Christmas Market) – December 9-11
  2. Town of Blythewood Christmas Parade through downtown Blythewood – December 11.
  3. Annual Awards Gala Banquet – February 4, 2023 – The Farm at Ridgeway
  4. Doko Rib fest Cookoff in the Park – March 10-12, 2023 – Doko Meadows Park
  5. Par 3 Palooza Golf Tournament – May 4, 2023 – Cobblestone Park Golf Club
