Blythewood Town Council – Candidate Forum

On behalf of the Town of Blythewood. the Greater Blythewood Chamber of Commerce hosted a Candidate Forum at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, October 26 at Doko Manor in Blythewood for the 2 at large seats to be selected in the upcoming Town Council municipal election to be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2021.

A “meet and greet” opportunity for the candidates was also held at 6:30 pm with light refreshments provided by Doko Statio Pub & Eatery.

2 of the 3 candidates filing for these seats, Ms. Roxann Henagan and Mr. Rich Mckenrick participating are pictured above at the dais. The 3rd candidate filing, incumbent Councilman, Mr. Sloan Griffin III, notified the hosts at 6:30 pm of his choice not to attend or participate.

Also shown in the photograph are Dr, Traci Cooper, Moderater for this event, along with Dr. Porschia Meadows, Proctor, representing Westwood High School and student panelists Gabriela del Valle, Kaitlyn Dibble, Cuaresma Gillard, Madison Lewis representing Westwood as well as Noah Valsecchi representing Blythewood High School.

The panelists presented prepared questions for each of the candidates followed by open “Town Hall” questions presented from attendees in the audience.

Thanks to all of the participants along with Ms. Maria Owens of Richland School District Two and Ms. Lisa Ellis of Blythewood High School for organizing the student participation as well as the citizens in attendance to hear the platform and vision for our Town from the candidates for this election.

All citizens of Blythewood are encouraged to vote on November 2 for the candidates of their choice to lead our Town for the next 4 years.
